Appeal for help

Dear Reader,

We are asking for help so that our daughter who was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis following routine screening, may have a better and longer life. Cystic Fibrosis is a complex illness which heavily affects both the respiratory and digestive systems, and for now there is no cure, only treatment.

This treatment is very costly. Unfortunately, the Polish Public Health Service (NFZ) provides very little in the way of financial assistance, and we must pay for the vast majority of medicines and rehabilitation equipment. The associated costs are significantly greater than our financial capabilities, and these costs will only increase as Julia gets older.

Genetic testing and research for a cure to Cystic Fibrosis are on going and we hope that some day soon there will be a chance to cure this aggressive illness. All we can do for now is to try and contain her illness with the help of medicine and rehabilitation.

Thanks to your donations, we managed to buy Julia a new inhaler and nebulizer. Donations from 1% of taxes can be use by us from November 2012. We allocate them towards medicines, nutrients, cleaners and disinfectants. The cost of these are very high and without your help and support, we would not be able to cover them.

Thanks to you, Julia's everyday life is closer to that of a healthy child.
